About
My name is Basia, I’m 10 years old. I live in Gdansk, Poland. I’m attending the Music School for two years.
I love violin music. I always play with great pleasure. I like to play at any time. When I come back from school, to rest after class, I take my beloved violin to play.
I like getting to know new music works. Recently, I had a lot of fun with an Indian piece that I posted here in the competition. I like to play this Indian music and I have a great imagination to be the Indian when I play. It seems to me that you can even hear it in this music. I love to tell stories when I play. Anyway, I think that these are only interesting stories when something happens, so I like to play with dynamics and articulation.
My mum and dad always listen attentively to me. Even my youngest brother, who at first did not like the violin, now even asked mum if he could go to music school for the violin. I wish he would come with me, I could help him learn to play. When Grandma comes to visit with Grandpa, they always hold hands and smile as they listen to me playing for them. I noticed that when I play, everyone smiles and stops his daily activities, my dad really likes it when I play with vibration.
The violin makes our home a different world and makes it more pleasant. My older brother used to play the saxophone but he is already doing something else, he is a scout. Sometimes he talks about me at scout camps, says that the violin can imitate the sounds of various forest animals and that I showed him how to play like an owl on a violin.
Since I have already obtained several diplomas, which I am very proud of, I have hung them on my wall and I really like to look at them. Sometimes I imagine that I will become a great artist. Anyway, I try to practice a lot, and I practice because I like my violin.
My dream is to be a musician. My mum and my dad graduated from the Academy of Music and they help me nurture my talent, especially my mum who is a pianist and accompanies me at home.
I really like listening to recordings of violin music. Especially in the evening when I go to sleep.
The violin is not even an object, a real good friend of mine.
